Well today certainly had its ups and downs but I don’t really want to talk about the downs right now, so I’m going to focus on the good.

This morning I almost skipped class but forced myself to go, and afterward I decided to get a coffee and muffin at the new Starbucks (I know, Starbucks in another country, but I wanted a bigger drink that was warm and sweet, and also whatever). I walked around listening to Anomalie’s new album and scouted out a bench near the old part of campus to eat, drink my coffee, and read briefly. It was gray and cloudy today, my favorite, and I wore my coziest sweater. On my way home I picked up something I wanted to buy and dropped it off before my second class, which I got through thanks to two really nice girls I met. Tomorrow is a national holiday here so we have a three day break from class which is extremely needed right now.

Fast forward to after siesta: I met up with my roommate and her friend that I mentioned in yesterday’s post, and I took them to a delicious Italian ice cream place I discovered. Then we went to dinner at an outdoor restaurant and I got a huge veggie pizza. After that we all went back to our apartment and talked and giggled for hours. I haven’t laughed this much in a really long time; it’s so nice to spend time with good people. They were going to go out but ended up having such a good time talking at our apartment that we just stayed there, and I couldn’t have had a better night.

//Honestly I’m so tired every day by the time I’m writing these posts, but I’m so so happy. I just feel like I’m in my element here and while traveling in general. No matter how exhausting it gets or how hard it can be, I know this is where I want to be and what I want to be doing. I can’t imagine doing anything else right now. And these people I’m meeting, these experiences I’m having, these new things I’m seeing and hearing and tasting, are all so incredible I don’t even know how to articulate it. It’s more than I imagined and almost like a dream.
