Hello everyone! It’s crazy that this has been happening for one hundred and three days. Thank you again to those of you who read these posts and follow this adventure. It’s just cool to know that people have listened to all my thoughts and feelings even when they’re all over the place sometimes.
Today, I have the link to the final post I wrote for my study abroad program, AIFS. With this post, I just wanted to tell my story of how I made the decision to study abroad and follow a dream I couldn’t easily imagine coming true. So, here’s the very beginning of this story: Should I Study Abroad
Today I had a low stress final where everyone picked a “part” in class and we reenacted an episode of Master Chef, coming up with our own dialogue. I played the mom of one of the chefs and made up a story about why she started to cook and how she made the perfect plate of paella when she was eleven years old. It was a bit ridiculous but an easy way to be tested and a better way to pass the time in class, so I’ll take it.
Directly from class, I went to a cafe with a friend to study for our culture exam. We were waiting on another friend to join us, so we tested each other over the material several times over the course of several hours. When I got home, lunch was served almost immediately, and afterward I ended up falling asleep for about two hours, missing the other review I was going to go to for another exam. It’s okay because I was obviously exhausted. The plan is to maybe study a bit more tonight, and definitely to wake up an hour earlier tomorrow to get one last cram session in. I can’t wait for these exams to be over.
When I woke up from my nap, I had two important emails: one telling me the final AIFS post was uploaded, and the other telling me about my placement for student teaching next semester! I’m going to be at a high school in Royse City, a school district I used to go to when I was a kid. I watched a video from the district and almost cried. I can’t wait to get into the classroom and give my best for the students!
